Craig called meeting to order. Reviewed minutes from December 09, 2008. Kerry motions to approve, Anne Fetters seconds, motion carries.
Cheryl reviewed the new Standing Rules. Anne Laufe amended the wording slightly. Anne Laufe motions to approve the revised Standing Rules as amended, Anne Fetters seconds, Standing Rules approved.
Kim Nickens Madison High School PTO President came to speak about Madison High School and their programs available.
3 focus programs will continue at the High School but now cross over will be allowed.
8th grade academy will not be there next year.
Sun School
Annie said registration was a great success. Tuesday nights Sun Community hosts Family Fun Night. This is to be a family activity not a child drop off.
Fused Glass Jewelry class will be rescheduled from Feb. 19th to Mar 19th.
Annie updated on future classes she would like to have.
Officer reports
President Report
Craig explained that Scrip needs to have a safe to store Scrip funds. The safe found costs roughly $200 and could be purchased out of Scrip proceeds.
Willa motions to allocate Scrip money to buy a fire proof safe to be locked in the school to store Scrip funds. Anne Fetters seconds, motion carries.
PTA will be hosting a Spaghetti Dinner scheduled for April 2nd, to raise funds for East Coast Trip.
Vice President Report
Scholastic Book Fair scheduled for March 9th thru March 12. Ice Cream Social to be held March 12th.
Spring Bulb sale coming.
Treasurer Report
Allison reports that Katy Surbrook donated money for the Edible Gardens and Scrip money.
Allison reviews Financial Report. Heidi motions to approve Financial Report, Anne Fetters seconds, motion carries.
Allison reviewed our Box Top Program and mentioned the Chinook Books available. Megan Peters volunteered to continue chairing the Chinook Book Program.
Membership Report
Heidi reports PTA has 152 members.
Carl Prehn is adding a link to the web site for fund raising.
Ongoing and Unfinished Business
Heidi Marmen Community Outreach: Reader Board will be installed soon near West Parking Lot. Vision Signs donated the Roseway Heights sign inside the reader board so the price is less than anticipated.
Anne Laufe will be offering a Grant Writing workshop January 21st.
Principal’s Report
Mary updated on upcoming events.
Willa said Roseway Heights is partnering with Madison to take some pre-AP training classes. These classes support teachers in better preparing students for High School.
